Amer Raheemullah was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. After finding a practice of Islam that changed the course of his life, he pursued the study of the Islamic sciences alongside clinical training focused on understanding how people change. He studied with local scholars before continuing at Zaytuna College, where he graduated with a master’s degree in Islamic Texts. His studies included fiqh, hadith, tafsir, usul al-fiqh, and usul al-din.

He now teaches Islamic texts with a focus on spirituality, balance, and practicing the sunnah. Alongside his teaching, he serves as Associate Clinical Professor at Stanford University, where his research and clinical work center on habits, addictive behavior, and helping people make lasting change in their lives.
